What is a Survey in Screeb?

Surveys are one of the three core pillars of Screeb, alongside Session Replay (Observe) and In-App Messages (Guide). They're how you ask your users questions directly, at the right moment, to understand what they think and feel.

What is a Survey?

A Survey lets you ask questions to a specific, targeted population of your userbase.
A Survey is built as a tree of questions: you decide the order, and you can branch the path depending on how a user answers a previous question. This means every respondent can get a different, relevant path through your Survey — instead of everyone seeing the exact same static form.
For example: only users who score below 7 on your NPS question could be shown an additional open-ended follow-up question, asking what went wrong.
At the end of the tree, you can even configure a specific closing scenario depending on the sentiment expressed by each user.

💡 Why this matters: this branching logic is what makes a Screeb Survey more like a conversation than a form, you only ask what's relevant to each person.

How to Build a Survey

You can create an unlimited number of Surveys in your workspace.
To get started, go to the Survey list page inside your workspace, then choose one of three ways to start:

• From a Template - start from one of our predefined templates and adjust it. Best if you're not sure where to start.
• From Scratch - build a fully custom Scenario from the ground up.
• From AI - describe your goal in a few words and let an AI agent generate a Scenario for you to refine.

Once your Survey is created, you can add, duplicate, or remove questions directly by clicking on them in the builder.
When you're happy with your Scenario, click Save, then Preview to see exactly what your users will experience.

How to Customize a Survey

Customization happens in a few different places:
Update the Survey title

• From the Survey list: click the ⋮ (three dots) at the end of a row → Rename → confirm with Enter.
• From the Builder: click the pencil icon next to the Survey name, top left of the builder.

Add tags to a Survey
From the Builder, click the Tags list in the top-left area to add or remove tags.

How to Delete a Survey

From the Survey list page, click the ⋮ at the end of the row, then select Delete.
A confirmation modal will warn you that deleting a Survey also permanently deletes all associated data, including every Survey Response collected.
⚠️ If you delete a Survey by mistake, contact Screeb support right away — depending on timing, some data may still be recoverable.
