The Screeb Funnel report helps you to spot friction in key user journeys (sign up, onboarding, conversion...) and to understand what you could improve with targeted in-app surveys.

It will help you define "who" and "when" you need to ask question to your customers.

1- Technical setup

The Funnel report is based on events. So the first thing you need to do is to push events to Screeb. You can do it by using our Segment integration, our Rudderstack integration or by using one of our SDK.

2- Create a Funnel in Screeb

Now that your events are tracked in Screeb, you can create your first funnel.

In the the main menu, click on Analytics > Funnels.

There you can click on the Create a Funnel button.

In the panel that appears on the right of the screen, you have to name your funnel. Then, select the events for every steps of your funnel.

For instance, if there are 5 different steps in your funnel, you must select 5 different events.

NB: for the moment, we only use events to create funnels. We plan to release other types of information in the future, like page views, DOM elements, etc.

Don't worry: you're able to reorder events at the next step so you can select events in any order in this panel.

Once you've selected all your events, you can click on Next.

3- Fine tune your funnel settings

On this screen, you can do 2 things:

1- Reorder events

By clicking on the 3 vertical dots next to an event's name, you can move this event up or down. You can also remove this event from your funnel.

Use this feature to be sure that your funnel is built in Screeb in the same order it's displayed to your users.

2- Drop delay configuration

To consider that one of your users dropped and didn't go from one of your funnel step to the next one, by default, we'll wait for one day.

But you can set a different delay by click on this option:

There, you have the ability to select a different value in minutes, hours or days.

Use this feature to be sure that the various audiences for each step (people successfully going from one step to another or people dropping off) are correct and the data that you'll have in Screeb are the same as the ones that you may already have in another analytics solution.

4- Choose where you want to Ask Questions in Funnel Edition

At this stage, you can already decide to ask questions to specific users based on their behaviour in your funnel.

To do that, for each step of your funnel, you have the ability to ask questions to people who successfully left this step to go to the next one (in green) or to people who dropped here and didn't go to the next step (in red).

Click on "Ask a Question" where you want to display a survey.

When you're done, you can click on "Go To Report" to access the report.

5- Funnel Report

On this screen, you can see your actual funnel performances.

For each step, on the left of the screen, you have

  • The number of people who triggered this event

  • A reminder of the drop delay you set up

  • The percentage of people who converted and went to the next step

  • The percentage of people who did not convert after the delay that is set up for this step and are counted as drops

From this report, you also have the ability to Ask Questions to your users based on how they behaved in your funnel.

To do that, for each step of your funnel, you have the ability to ask questions to people who successfully left this step to go to the next one (in green) or to people who dropped here and didn't go to the next step (in red).

Click on "Ask a Question" where you want to display a survey.

You can read more about how to implement event tracking, you can read our developper documentation.
